Biblical Authority
We have an authoritative spiritual guide in the Bible,
the Word of God. What scripture teaches takes precedence over church traditions,
human experiences and man's opinion. Therefore, we are committed to the
accurate, clear, and practical communication of God's Word in a way that
provides hope, ministers grace, and urges obedience.

Timothy 3:16-17
People
Lost people matter to God, and therefore should matter
to us. As we reach out with the love of Christ, people experience hope,
help, forgiveness, and direction. We have an obligation to be creative
and passionate in our desire to reach people outside of God's family.
Luke
19:10
Cultural Relevance
In a sincere effort to reach a culture that is disillusioned
and cynical of traditional organized religion, we intend to be culturally
relevant while remaining doctrinally pure. We desire to be aware of, and
sensitive to the preconceived ideas and objections that many Americans
have concerning Christianity. In an attempt to be effective in evangelism
our methods will continually change but our message will remain the same.

Corinthians 9:19-23
World Missions
Approximately one half of the world's population has
yet to hear a clear presentation of the gospel message. Without the gospel
they are eternally lost without hope. We must therefore, make it a priority
to see that God's message and His messengers are sent to all parts of
the world.
Romans
10:10-14
Teamwork
Ministry is a team effort. Every believer possesses natural
abilities and spiritual gifts. As these talents and gifts are released
for God to use, significance and purpose is found in life. At Avalon we
believe every member is called to be a minister.

Corinthians. 12
Leadership
Jesus Christ himself is the great shepherd and ultimate
leader of the church. However, God in his infinite wisdom has gifted certain
individuals with leadership gifts. The church is best served when led
by those that God has called and equipped as pastors.

Peter 5:1-4
Quality
Excellence is an attribute of God. Quality both honors
God and inspires people. God sacrificed the best, His only Son, for us.
Therefore we seek to maintain a high standard of quality in everything
we do to the glory of God.
Colossians
3:23
Authenticity
Relationships should be ruled by honesty and sincerity.
Character and integrity motivate us to be others oriented as we live and
serve together.
