THE PASTOR’S VISION:

 600 Avalon Church adults participating in a 40 day study of God's Word. This will involve a six week commitment to attending church and to being part of a "40 Days in the Word" Life Group.

THE PASTOR’S (AND ELDERS’) EXPECTATION:

600+ adults will be involved in this life-changing, church-changing study. Just this last Monday evening, Pastor Dale told the group gathered for the Discovering Avalon Class that we intend for our church to be a high challenge environment that encourages and develops fully devoted followers of Christ.

YOUR FIRST OPPORTUNITY:

This Sunday (January 22) will be the first opportunity to become part of a 40 Days Life Group. All of our Life Groups will meet once a week for six consecutive weeks. There will be an insert in the bulletin that lists the number of Life Groups and their general locations for any given day of the week.

The tear off section of the bulletin will be modified and one side will be dedicated to Life Group registration. We are asking you to come prepared to fill in the blanks on the tear off indicating your name(s), phone, email, which community or subdivision you live in, which days of the week would be best for you and if you need childcare. Based on the information you provide, the 40 Days team will assign folks to the most convenient Life Group and the leader of that group will contact you with a personal invitation to join them. The completed tear off form can be placed in the offering plate or turned in at the 40 Days Information Table in the lobby.

(Note: We are asking those already active in a Life Group to also complete a tear off form, indicating your name and which group you are presently a part of.)

SUPER GROUPS:

Twenty-four groups will be meeting in homes; two "super-groups" will be meeting at the church on Sunday afternoon and Tuesday evening. The super groups are specifically being made available for those joining the 40 Days study who require childcare. The nursery, toddler room and other classrooms will be dedicated to providing care for kids so up to 100 adults (small group tables of 10) can meet in the worship center. Donations will be accepted to offset the cost of childcare.

SPANISH SPEAKING LIFE GROUP:

The 40 Days study also comes in a Spanish version so we are pleased to be offering a 40 Days group specifically for our Spanish speaking family.
