Greetings Parents!!
Wow!! What a fabulous summer it has been!! Many of the students had an amazing camp experience, many also served with VBS at Avalon and at Bithlo! We will be doing much more serving this year, as this is the best way (only way, really) to put their faith into action! This past Sunday, Dustin preached from Hebrews 12:1-3:
12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
There are four things we can take from these verses with regards to our faith walk: 1. Let God’s Word encourage us in our faith. 2. Throw off things that hinder us. (Those can even be good things) 3. Fix our eyes on Jesus when things are hard-don’t focus on the problem, focus on Jesus to keep things in perspective. 4. Consider all Jesus has done. Look back to how He has come through in your life in the past.
It’s been a great summer and we look forward to a great school year. Please, if you know of students going into 6th grade, let them know about 220 Student Ministries!
It is such a privilege that you entrust your students to us each week-we don’t take that responsibility lightly! Please let us know if we can help in any way!
As always parents, we’re here for you and your students! On behalf of the entire youth staff, Nancy Rodriguez 407-325-2001
