For the last seven weeks we have traveled together on a journey to learn about love – and the journey is about over – or is it?
Jesus replied: “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew 22:37-39 (NIV)
“Let love be your greatest aim…” 1 Corinthians 14:1 (TLB)
Can we ever learn enough about love? Have we really “learned” if there is no application or evidence in our lives? If love is our greatest aim, do we ever arrive?
I hope you realize that the answer is no – which is exactly why Pastor Dale told us Sunday that he would keep talking about love, again and again, so that the “main thing” remains the “main thing” for Avalon Church.
In fact, this coming Sunday we are going to talk about it again and again during our worship services as we “Celebrate Love!”
The choir is going to lead us in worship through music. There will be testimonies from individuals, couples and families, all sharing stories about the impact of the 40 Days of Love study on their lives – what the Lord showed them and how they put it into action. Testimonies bring joy and encouragement to the journey! Come be inspired and encouraged as the family shares together
In preparation for our time of celebration this Sunday, let me encourage you to:
- Go back through your 40 Days of Love workbook, reviewing the Bible verses and the principles, or:
- Review your sermon notes from the last seven Sundays, or:
- Prayerfully ponder the bold type verses above
Whichever you do, I hope you will plan on joining us Sunday for an awesome time of praise, worship and storytelling!
P.S. The celebration continues Sunday afternoon at the Fall Festival from 4-6pm.
