Belief and Faith – you might think they are interchangeable words, just two different sides of the same coin, so to speak.
Granted, they are “brothers” in the same family of spiritual words; and while you can tell they are related, they behave in totally different ways in the real world.
This Sunday I am going to ask you to compare the interactions of two different men who came to Jesus with their individual requests. They are similar in many ways: they both are in positions of authority; they both have money; they both have a need. However, one walks away from Jesus sad, the other walks away from Jesus glad. So what was the difference?
In preparation for our time of study together Sunday, let me encourage you to read the following verses:
- Matthew 19:16-22 – I would do anything to have eternal life
- John 4:43-54 – I would do anything to have my son healed
One of my Life Groups met last evening. It was so very enjoyable. We laughed to tears; we prayed together; and they helped me with thoughts for this weekend’s sermon. Y’all should have such a Life Group – and I am blessed to have two!
Many in the group asked for prayer as they travel during Spring Break. I know many of you, too, will be on the road this weekend and next week – some for vacation, others traveling early Tuesday morning to Detroit for a week of missions. Please join me is asking the Lord to keep our families save. But let’s also ask Him to remind all of us that the opportunities to be used by Him are not limited to Orlando, but wherever we may be.
Anticipating the gathering of God’s people this Sunday!
“Lord, if you want to use me in any way today, I am available.”
