A day in the village of Bethany. It was the beginning of the end of the journey for Jesus. The next day he would make “the Triumphal Entry” into Jerusalem, after which things would happen very rapidly. Within days Jesus would dead.
What occurred that last “normal” day? In John’s record of that one 24-hour period we see almost every significant player in the last week of Jesus’ life – Mary, the disciples (especially Judas), the crowd, and the chief priests. Each did or said something of significance that would impact the life and mindset of Jesus as he began the last leg of his earthly journey.
The questions Pastor Dale will explore Sunday morning are,” Why did they all do the things they did? What were their motivations?” and, “What can we learn from them about our own motivations?”
In preparation for our time of study this Sunday, let me encourage you to read the following verses:
- John 12:1-11 – it was anything but a restful day with friends
It is the middle of a busy week. For those with children on Spring Break, the days are probably full of all kinds of activities. Remember to worship, in spirit and in truth, wherever you may are, whatever you may be doing.
“Lord, if you want to use me in any way today, I am available.”
