This Sunday we return to where we left off in our journey through the gospel of John. In fact, we are going to revisit a portion of scripture in John, chapter 4.
Three Sundays ago I shared a message about two men who came to Jesus – two men very similar in social status and wealth; each had a request to present to the Master but left Jesus’ presence with two entirely different results.
In this teaching time, I offered the perspective of the two men – what each needed; the turmoil Jesus caused by how He responded; and the conclusion to which each man came.
This Sunday we will look again at John 4 but from the perspective of Jesus. What did Jesus observe as the royal official begged for the life of his son? Why was Jesus apparently so stern in His initial response? How does Jesus define faith?
As we study together, see if you can identify the “stages of faith in the spiritual journey.”
In preparation for our time of study, let me encourage you to read the following verses:
- John 4:43-54 – “So, do you believe Me, or not?”
- Luke 7:1-10 – “I have not found such great faith even in Israel.” Really? How come?
So, did it ever occur to you that for a believer every Sunday is Resurrection Sunday? Just saying.
“Lord, if you want to use me in any way today, I am available.”
