“Glory to God, glory to God, glory to God forever!”
Ah, the words to one of my favorite songs. We sing it in church in a wonderful way. Perhaps the tune will come to mind and you will start humming or singing it yourself – for the rest of the day! J
I would hope we all want to bring glory to God. As we think about ways to do that the list may quickly include singing, playing an instrument as a member of the praise team, preaching an inspiring message, going a mission trip. But has it ever occurred to you that praying brings glory to God?
“And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.”
Perhaps that is one of the reasons that the disciples never asked Jesus to teach them how to preach, or minister effectively to a large crowd, or what to do on a mission trip. As they watched Jesus pray and they saw glory those prayers brought to the Father and the power and purpose they instilled in Jesus’ life, their appeal to Him was, “Lord, teach us to pray.”
This Sunday Pastor Dale will be sharing about how to bring glory to God – by praying!
Let me encourage you to read and ponder the following verses to learn more about prayer and to be prepared to worship Sunday with your heart, soul, mind and body:
- Matthew 6:5-13
“Singing glory to God forever!”
“Lord, if you want to use me in any way today, I am available.”
