Prospective Senior Pastor

Don Dodge was selected to be our Senior Pastor on December 11, 2017. For the remainder of December and first weeks of January, Don, his wife, Rae Lynn, and daughters, Ali and Rylie, are making preparations for a move from Wisconsin to Orlando. As natives of Lakeland, FL, Don and Rae Lynn are looking forward to returning to Central Florida. We are praying with them for an uneventful relocation and are excited to have the entire Dodge family join us on Sunday, January 21.

Jim and Debbie have been married since 1972 and have a son, Mike, who lives in Georgia and a daughter, Danielle, who along with her husband Jason are active members of Avalon Church. Jim and Debbie have been members of Avalon Church almost from its beginning. Jim’s pastoral experience and administrative skills are helping lead Avalon Church into a dynamic church that seeks to impact the community for Christ. Jim also serves as the Executive Director of Journey Ministries of Central Florida, a local pastoral counseling center.

Arthur and Jessica have been married since May 2008 and have two daughters and a son, Arabella, Caydan and Paisley. Arthur currently leads our worship team and directs our 220 youth group. Arthur and Jessica love working with Middle and High School students, and have a passion to lead them to a closer relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Spanish Ministry Pastor

William is originally from New York but grew up in Ecuador. He has been serving the Lord since being baptized in 2001. He and his wife, Rosy, have been married since 1991 and have four children, the eldest serving in the US Air Force. Together they share a passion to serve the Spanish Ministries in spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ to the Latin community. William is an avid photographer and loves soccer, coaching children’s soccer teams since 1990.

Lisa has been married to David since 2002 and they have three wonderful children, Nathaniel, Noah and Lianne. They have been a part of Avalon church since 2009 and they love their church family. Lisa’s passion is working with children and has been teaching at a Christian preschool since 2008.  She also has worked for many years in event coordination. Lisa’s combined experience are sure to help create an environment that is God-centered, safe and fun for our children. She looks forward to plan events throughout the year to draw families together in our community and within our families here at Avalon Church

Ira has been married to his best friend Brandee since 2004 and they have 3 daughters Emma, Hannah and Lilly. They joined Avalon Church shortly after moving to the Avalon/Timber Springs Community in 2008. Ira has served at Avalon Church as Deacon, Life Group Leader and Men’s Ministry Coordinator.  Ira’s passion for connecting people through small groups and his success at leading dynamic Life Groups lead to his selection as the Director of Life Groups at Avalon Church

Directors Of Local Outreach & Global Missions

Mauricio and Jennifer have been married since 1995 and have three children. Alex, Jordan and Julianna. Mauricio is originally from Mexico. They moved to Orlando in 2006 and have lived in Avalon Park since. They have a passion for serving others and they advocate compassion toward those around the world who suffer from poverty. They believe their calling comes from Mathew 25 35-40 ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ They have been active in the community, serving internationally and taking mission trips to Haiti and Colombia. They believe the church is the light of the world and that we as Christians should always aspire to live our faith through our actions.

Lori has a passion for managing finances (and anything else she does!) with excellence. She works closely with the Pastors and Elders to execute the budget with meticulous accuracy.  Lori, her husband John, and their adult son Michael have been active, hardworking members of Avalon Church from its very first Sunday.

The friendly voice on the phone and the smiling face greeting you at the church office belong to Doris. Doris has been cheerfully serving at Avalon Church for over 7 years; she and her daughters, Hannah, Kaitlin, and Julia are actively involved in our Awana ministry. Doris brings a level of excitement and energy to the church office that is contagious.

Dominic loves Avalon Church and the building God has given us. His full attention is given throughout the week to making sure the facility is maintained, repaired and prepared for all the activities that occur here.

Randy and his wife Shari married in 1992. They have three girls- Hannah, Madelyn and Natalie.After trusting Christ as a high school student and involvement with Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) while in college Randy joined the full time staff of Cru in 1988. After 5 years of campus ministry in Wisconsin, Randy and Shari spent 3 years in Lithuania, part of the former Soviet Union. They moved to Orlando in 2005 to take a position at the Cru headquarters. They joined Avalon church in 2006. Randy and Shari taught 5th grade Sunday school and Randy is currently active in the Avalon church men’s ministry and also serves as a greeter and usher. He desires to seek Jesus daily and to invite, encourage and challenge others to do the same.

Richard Dunn

Richard is married to Carmen and together have 6 grandchildren that they love and spoil! Richard’s daughter Shelly teaches 5th grade in Los Angeles, CA. Carmen’s daughter Maria lives in Orlando with her husband Tony and 4 children while her son Ruben lives in Lake Mary with his wife Alex and their 2 children. Richard served 31 years in the United States Marine Corps, retiring in June 2004 to join Viper Technology Services, becoming a partner in the company. Richard and Carmen have a passion for children, serving in the Children’s Ministry and AWANA. Richard is also a part of the Visitor Connection and Welcome Ministry. Richard and Carmen also have a heart for the homeless, faithfully serving with Word on the Street Homeless Ministry. They belong to the Transformers Life Group. The Dunn family has been members of Avalon Church since 2007. Richard served as Avalon Deacon from 2012 – 2015.

Rodney Choi

Rodney left a small town in Hawaii to attend the U.S. Naval Academy and serve a 20 year career in the U.S. Marine Corps. Upon retiring from the Marines in 2006, Rodney, his wife Kristine, and their two children, Mark and Kelly, initially settled in Pennsylvania.  Rodney and Kristine moved to Florida in 2014. They came to Avalon Church their first Sunday in Florida and loved it. After looking at only one other church, they came back to Avalon and stayed. Rodney works on simulation systems for the military and Kristine works for the Orange County Public Schools. Their children are both married and living back in Pennsylvania. Rodney and Kristine work with the 18:25 young adult group. Prior to coming to Orlando Rodney participated in various service missions and led small groups. He believes that the church serves as both a beacon for drawing non-believers to Christ and a refuge for believers to be renewed for further service.

Rian Seipler

Rian and his wife Neddy have attended Avalon Church for several years.  He recently retired after 40 years as an executive in the retail industry, most recently with Marshalls Department Stores for 24 years. Rian was ordained as a Southern Baptist Minister in 2006 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Houston and served as a Minister of Education and Administration. He is also on the Board of Directors for the College of Prayer, an organization out of Atlanta GA. He and his wife of 40 years have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. Spoiling grandchildren is one of their favorite pastimes as well as attending as many of their sporting and school events as possible. Rian considers prayer the most important spiritual element of Christianity. He believes the tremendous power of prayer through the Holy Spirit can be greater utilized in the church today.   He also hosts a Prayer Life Group and one of his favorite verses is Ephesians 6:18:  “And pray in the spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayer and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep praying for all the Lord’s people.”

Joseph St. Hilaire

Joseph and Samarra St Hilaire have been married since 2003. They have four beautiful God-fearing children, Josephine, Aaron, Charlisse and Faith. Before moving to Florida, God laid on their hearts to pray for a community where they can serve our Heavenly Father. Jehovah God has answered their prayer in a tremendous way. Joseph has been a greeter, a youth leader and an elder at Avalon Church. His kids volunteer as greeters and serve in the Children Ministry. His wife, Samarra, has a passion for the churches in the community to unite as one Body, one Voice and one Worship for our Jesus Christ. Joseph loves people, embracing the new commandment Jesus gave in John 15:12 “to love one another as I have loved you.” He intends to do just that as long as he is alive.
