  • Don Dodge // Lead Pastor

    Don and Rae Lynn have raised three daughters while church planting and pastoring in Florida and Wisconsin. Don became the lead pastor at Avalon Church in 2018 and has since earned his PhD in Theology and Apologetics. His passion is walking alongside people in their faith-journey, studying scripture, and seeing life changing discipleship take place as people get to know Jesus.

  • William Nieto // Spanish Pastor

    William is originally from New York but grew up in Ecuador. He has served the Lord since he was baptized in 2001. He and his wife, Rosy, born in El Salvador, have been married since 1991 and have four children and one grandson.

    William is an avid photographer and has enjoyed soccer, as well as coaching children to play the sport, since 1990. William is in the process of receiving his second Master of Divinity with a focus on Marriage and Family Counseling.

  • Michael Smith // Worship + Youth Pastor

    Mike and Susie have been married since 2009 and have four beautiful children. They joined the Avalon Church family in January of 2019. Mike has been leading worship since his early teenage years, while also committing himself to mentoring and discipleship of young people. They both share a deep love for Jesus and a passion for seeing the Kingdom of God extended throughout the earth, especially through worship and ministry to students.

  • Lisa Hernandez // Children's Pastor

    Lisa, along with her husband David and their 3 kids have been involved in Avalon church since around 2008. Lisa came to know Jesus as a child and so her heart is for children to come to know, love, and serve Jesus. When she isn't working on our amazing children's program, she loves to plan events, travel, and spend time with her family.

  • Ivonne Noriega // Office Administrator

    Ivonne, Domingo, and their daughter have been part of the Avalon Church family for over 10 years.

    They love serving in various ministries and walking alongside and discipling young people. Her heart is for each person to feel the love and embrace of Jesus no matter where they have been.

    When she is not at the church office, she loves spending her time with family, at vintage shops, book stores (yes, they still exist), exploring art, and coffee shops.

  • Katrina Hull // Financial Administrator

    Katrina graduated from UCF with a degree in accounting. She has been an accountant for 27 years with experience in cost accounting, fund accounting, corporate accounting, timeshare accounting, and residential accounting.

    Katrina has two daughters, Kiersten and Kaytlin as well as a new grandson.

    She is an avid Crimson Tide fan and enjoys taking road trips and going hiking where to find some solace and spend alone time with God.

  • Dennis Sink // Facilities Manager

    Dennis and his family served overseas for many years before returning back Stateside.

    He is the man behind the curtain who makes all of the tech and media happen for Sunday services and has served in many roles at Avalon Church including previously being an Elder.

  • Stephanie Cunningham // Communications Coordinator

    Stephanie and her husband Craig spent most of their 11 years of marriage overseas in college ministry before returning to America in 2018 when they also became involved in Avalon Church.

    When she’s not chasing their two little kids she’s attempting to put her degree in Media and Communication Studies to good use by cultivating relationships through digital media.

 Elders

  • John Powers // Elder

    John and his wife Ann were involved in ministry in Romania and Hungary for some 25 years, where they raised their 2 boys. They returned to the US in 2016, where John serves in the Staff Care Dept. of Cru and Ann is currently working on a degree in mental health counseling. They have enjoyed being a part of a life group and serving in various capacities.

    Part of John’s journey has involved the loss of his sight due to a genetic condition, learning to trust the Author of his story in the peaks and valleys of life.

  • Phillip Han // Elder

    Phillip was born in South Korea and immigrated to the US at age 17. Phillip and his wife Joanna are blessed with 2 grown children and have been part of Avalon church family since 2011.

    Phillip is an engineer and has been working in the modeling and simulation industry in East Orlando for 30 years.

    Phillip and Joanna deeply believe in an authentic and caring community. They are currently leading a life group consisting mostly of those who were born overseas.
